Citations of chapters

  • Under the canopy of purple lagerstroemia flowers and fiery red poinciana flowers in the middle of May, groups on bicycles were quickly gliding into the parking garage in time for the first day of study for the 10th grade exam.
  • When Nguyen Duy returned home that evening, he heard from a neighbor that Ngan Ha had come to visit him but found no one at home. Nguyen Duy was stunned. He didn’t think that a slender, gentle, and seemingly timid girl like Ngan Ha bravely rode her bike to visit him. He also heard the neighbor say that “Ngan Ha is very beautiful and has a sweet voice!”
  • It was beautiful sunny, and the schoolyard was filled with laughter and joy then suddenly a thunderstorm storm arrived. It started pouring rain. The students quickly ran into the corridors on both sides of the school. Nguyen Duy stood in the corridor on one side, while Ngan Ha stood on the other side, separated by the schoolyard. At that time, Nguyen Duy was chatting with the homeroom teacher, while Ngan Ha stood among her close friends. Although Nguyen Duy was talking to the teacher, his eyes always turned towards Ngan Ha in the corridor on the other side. Both of them looked at each other relentlessly through the rain, a mixture of anger and affection. They looked at each other as if they wanted to tell each other many things.
  • They reached the corner of the schoolyard and sat down on a stone bench. Both of them remained silent, not knowing what to say. The sound of cicadas singing filled the air, as if replacing their conversation. They gazed into the distance and then turned their eyes back to each other. At this moment, perhaps there was no need for words. Both of them dreamed of meeting and falling in love when they became university students.
  • In the middle of autumn, September, it was bright yellow sunshine, Nguyen Duy and Ngan Ha embarked on their university journey. The night before going to university, Nguyen Duy lay awake, restless. He silently reminded himself that he had to study hard and not disappoint the hopes of his family. Then he thought of Ngan Ha, and in his mind, a beautiful love story unfolded, set against the backdrop of their college years. So many aspirations and a bright future awaited the young man.
  • Nguyen Duy leaned closer to Ngan Ha’s ear as if intending to whisper something. Thinking that he was about to kiss, Ngan Ha raised her hand to fend him off and then slapped him hard across the face. Everyone around them was surprised and stared wide-eyed. Nguyen Duy felt extremely embarrassed. He ran away without saying a word.
  • After returning to the dormitory room from class, Ngan Ha placed the flower on the table. The breeze from the ceiling fan caused the flower to fall to the floor, and the stem of the flower came off. Ngan Ha picked it up, and feeling that there might be something inside, she opened it. She was surprised to find a large message on the rolled-up piece of paper inside the stem that said, “I love you!”
  • Ngan Ha felt touched and confused. That evening, she logged into Yahoo Messenger and sent messages to Nguyen Duy:

“Why did you do that this afternoon?

Why did you intend to kiss to me in the hallway right in front of the classroom?

        In such a crowded place?

Do you know how embarrassed and ashamed I felt?

But anyway, I apologize for slapping you!”

  • As the sunset gradually faded, Nguyen Duy stopped the bike. They both sat down on the grassy by the lake. The scenery was truly poetic and romantic. They looked into the distance and then turned their gaze back to each other. Their heads moved closer, their eyes closed, and their lips touched. The first kiss was awkward but also ecstatic and sweet.
  • He approached Ngan Ha gently and quietly sat beside her. They turned to face each other, their eyes filled with overflowing affection, breaking the misunderstanding and anger of the past few days. With smiles exchanged, they leaned into each other’s shoulders, enveloped in a mix of joy and longing.
  • Every winter, when the cold wind blew, he would suffer from pain. All work and burdens fell upon Nguyen Duy’s mother. Given the family’s circumstances, Nguyen Duy always promised himself to strive and make up for his father’s losses and sacrifices in the future.
  • On Christmas Eve, Nguyen Duy rode his bike to the AOFs’ dormitory to pick up Ngan Ha for an outing. Ngan Ha looked absolutely beautiful and warm in her white coat. The two of them rode around the central streets of Hanoi. The sweet cold seemed to bring them closer together. Sitting behind, Ngan Ha held onto Nguyen Duy tightly. They both felt warm and incredibly happy.
  • In the chilly weather of Christmas night, the two of them held each other tightly, sharing warmth. The cold wind still blew, and the lake’s waves continued to ripple, but the couple kept exchanging romantic gestures, passionate kisses filled with the sweetness of their youth.
  • “To save Nguyen Duy’s life, we performed brain surgery to remove blood clots and partially restore the damaged brain. Unfortunately, that part of the damaged brain is responsible for memory retention. We cannot guarantee the recovery of his memory. However, we will do our best,” replied the head doctor.
  • Ngan Ha felt a piercing pain in her heart. It seemed like just the other day they had vowed to live and die together, but now Nguyen Duy stood before her completely unaware of anything. She cried, feeling sorrowful and went back to her own home.
  • When the time came to leave, she gave him a deep and passionate kiss. Although he could hardly feel anything, she felt her heart tremble, overflowing with love. She took off the silver necklace from her neck and put it around his neck. She hoped the necklace would serve as both a lucky charm to aid his recovery of memory and a memento she dedicated to him.
  • Holding his hand, she placed it on her chest, allowing him to feel the warmth of her love, of her heart pulsating. She held him tightly, kissed his lips once again deeply, and then she walked away.
  • Ngan Ha was taken aback by this innocent question. She couldn’t believe her ears anymore. Before, when Nguyen Duy didn’t know anything, she could embrace, kiss, and comfort him. But now, it was different. Nguyen Duy reacted to her like a stranger. Ngan Ha tried to remain calm and approached him. She held Nguyen Duy’s hand and sat down on the porch. Confused, Nguyen Duy asked again:

“Who are you? Who are you looking for? My parents are not home today.”

Ngan Ha was stunned by those questions. She couldn’t say anything and, in an attempt to regain composure, she held Nguyen Duy’s hand and tried to embrace him, but he pushed her away.

  • That night, lying on her bed, tears flowed uncontrollably. Ngan Ha cried but tried not to let her parents know. Perhaps she felt too sorrowful, as all the love she had nurtured, anticipated, and hoped for seemed to be in vain now. She walked out to the yard, looked up at the sparkling stars in the sky, and silently made a wish for their love to return someday. “Oh, shining stars, do you know how much I love him? Please, out of sincere and loyal love, let him awaken with me tonight.”
  • In the village where Nguyen Duy lives, there was a temple called Nam Trieu. The temple was built in the 13th century when the Tran dynasty troops retreated there to resist the Mongol invaders. After being dismantled for several centuries, the temple had been reconstructed. It was located next to the field, so the scene was very quiet and peaceful. The abbot of the temple was Master Thich Quang Sang.
  • On the morning of the Full moon day, Nguyen Duy’s parents and younger sister accompanied him to the temple. The temple was about a half-hour walk from their house. Upon reaching the temple gate, the whole family slowly entered. The scene was tranquil and peaceful, with the melodic chirping of birds and the gentle sound of flowing water blending harmoniously.
  • Nguyen Duy bent down to see his reflection in the well. He felt excited! Since losing his memory, it felt as if he hadn’t seen himself in a mirror.
  • Yoga is a discipline originating from India. It combines harmonious movements and breath control. We cannot live without breathing, but most of us pay little attention to our breath and don’t know how to harness its full potential. Practicing yoga will help us with this. With diligent practice and the right techniques, practitioners will have a flexible and healthy body, along with a sharp mind and a youthful spirit.”
  • During practice, the mind should not wander but rather focus on a single point. In each exercise, you should concentrate on a specific point on the body. Breath is the backbone of yoga. Combining physical exercise with breath control will generate a new vitality in the human body.”
  • Ever since Nguyen Duy lost his memory, Ngan Ha found it increasingly difficult to focus on her studies due to her overwhelming sadness and longing for him. She attended classes like a lifeless soul, speaking seldom and never smiling. After each class, she would slowly leave, taking uncertain steps.
  • Spotting her mother, Ngan Ha whispered, “Mom!” She embraced her mother, wanting to cry but unable to shed tears, perhaps she had cried all her tears already. Pitying her daughter, Ngan Ha’s mother consoled, “Time will heal, and there will be someone who loves you more than the world itself.” Ngan Ha lay in her mother’s arms and whispered, “Besides Nguyen Duy, I won’t love anyone else in this world.”
  • “Life is like that, my dear. It’s not always possible to live with the person we like or love. This is the suffering of separation love, one of the eight sufferings according to Buddhism. You have the affinity but not the fate with Nguyen Duy. However, it may be, you still have to accept this truth,” said her mother.
  • Just as Ngan Ha received the flowers from Phan Nam, his friends quickly ran over and brought various colored flowers, arranging them into the shape of a heart around the two of them. After the flowers were arranged, Phan Nam’s friends enthusiastically shouted, “Kiss each other, kiss each other!” In response, Ngan Ha’s friends also joined in, chanting, “Kiss each other! Kiss each other!”
  • At around 5 AM the next morning, just before the temple bell rang, Nguyen Duy suddenly opened his eyes. It was still the same space, but he felt like he was in a different world. He remembered all the events of the past and present. He closed his eyes for a moment and then opened them again, thinking to himself, “Clearly, this is not a dream.” Nguyen Duy sat up and saw the two novices lying beside him.
  • Arriving at Ngan Ha’s alley, Nguyen Duy saw a crowd and heard wedding music. He felt a mix of anxiety and worry as he dismounted his bike and entered. Upon reaching the gate of Ngan Ha’s house, Nguyen Duy was shocked to see the decorated gate with the words “Wedding Ceremony”. His face paled, and it seemed as if the sky were falling around him. In a state of confusion, not understanding what was happening, he heard someone calling:
  • In the distance, Nguyen Duy spotted Ngan Ha in a white wedding dress, standing next to Phan Nam. Seeing that image, his heart shattered even more. Unable to bear it any longer, he turned his bike around and sped away. Before him, there was a pouring rainstorm and darkness enveloped him.
  • He touched the necklace around his neck. He vividly remembered Ngan Ha taking off her necklace and putting it on him. Tears streamed down his face again. He took off the necklace and placed it in the palm of his hand. He gazed at it for a while before gripping it tightly. He intended to throw it into the river. But then he thought, “What fault does Ngan Ha have? The fault lies with me.” He was tormented by pain, and tears continued to flow.
  • The sky darkened, and when he looked into the distance, he saw twinkling lights everywhere. After a while, he heard the church bells and familiar Christmas music. “Is it Christmas Eve today?” he wondered. “Yes, sparkling lights and familiar Christmas songs. Tonight is indeed Christmas Eve, the night of the wedding, the night of Ngan Ha’s happiness.” Thinking this, his heart tightened with even more pain. Then he remembered the moment from the same day of the previous year. That Christmas Eve, he was joyful, warm, and blissful, but this Christmas Eve, he felt melancholic, cold, lonely, agonized, and completely shattered.
  • “I was born during the fiercest period of the war against the Americans. Just one month after my mother gave birth to me, she received news that my father had been sacrificed on the battlefield. In 1975, when the country was reunified, I was five years old, and my mother took another step (my mother got married), leaving me to my grandmother. We lived together in a makeshift house, relying on each other from childhood to adolescence. Despite the hardships, my grandmother tried her best to take care of me and provide me with an education.”
  • On a day, around 4 o’clock in the morning, I woke up, packed my clothes into a backpack, and carried the baby. Before leaving, I left a letter for the woman who sold water in the same room, expressing gratitude and saying goodbye. Carrying the baby to the gate of the family’s house, who were civil servants, I left the baby along with a letter, asking them to adopt my baby. Tears streamed down my face as I hugged my baby for the last time, then I ran away quickly into the darkness.
  • It was the midst of spring, and the air was no longer bitterly cold but rather warmer. On the way back home, the trees were budding with new life. The long stretches of green grass nurtured the glistening morning dew, pure and pristine. The rice fields were teeming with vibrant green crops. As Nguyen Duy observed the changing landscape, transitioning from the withered remnants of winter to the sprouting vitality of spring, he felt excited and exhilarated, as if infused with a new lease on life. High above in the sky, flocks of swallows danced gracefully amidst the lush green fields, as if their dreams took flight into the boundless sky.
  • After studying, he often went outside to the courtyard to admire the moon and stars. Those were the moments when he felt most relaxed and emotional. As the night deepened, the Milky Way stretched across the sky, revealing its beauty and grandeur. From memories to emotions, everything naturally welled up within him, making him missed Ngan Ha even more passionately.
  • While everyone was happily sitting and enjoying their ice cream, a voice suddenly echoed from a distance, “Thieves, thieves!” Nguyen Duy looked up and saw two young men on a motorcycle snatching a girl’s belongings and fleeing. Swift as lightning, Nguyen Duy stood up and chased after the two thieves.
  • In the following days, whenever they had free time, Nguyen Duy and Hai Ha would chat with each other at the company and gradually became closer. Nguyen Duy developed strong feelings for Hai Ha, as she always exuded intelligence, beauty, and carefree nature. Many nights, even though he didn’t want to be infatuated with someone, Hai Ha’s image with her bright eyes, sunny smile, and neatly styled boyish haircut would appear fresh and lively in Nguyen Duy’s mind.

  • In the following days, Nguyen Duy studied the source code of the AI Air aircraft control software developed by HUAV. AI Air was written in multiple object-oriented languages, including C, C++, and Java. Fortunately, Nguyen Duy was proficient in these languages, so reading and understanding the source code was not too difficult. One of the things he learned at Google to quickly understand how source code works was to make modifications and then run tests.
  • “To create AI that can replace human pilots in autonomous aircraft control, the integrated AI must function like the human brain. This means the AI must operate similarly to the neural mechanisms in the human brain. To build AI based on that structure, we first need to analyze the functioning of the neural system in the human brain,” Professor Ca Rijn explained.
  • “We will consider each point as a biological sensor capable of receiving signals, processing them, and reacting accordingly. To achieve this, we need to build billions of biological sensors that can function like neurons. We will report this to Professor Ca Rijn to proceed with the implementation,” Nguyen Duy said.
  • “Yes! This morning, on my way to class, when I passed by here and saw you, I felt doubtful. I wanted to call out to you, but I was afraid it might not be you, so I hesitated. I stopped and observed carefully. Your figure, the way you walk, I couldn’t mistake them. Although I wasn’t completely certain, I had to call out to you; otherwise, I would have lost the chance. And in the end, I was right!” Hai Ha said.
  • In the evening, upon returning to his apartment, Nguyen Duy found the lecture materials on Quantitative Economics that Hai Ha had sent him. As he opened the lecture, he found it utterly fascinating. Some mathematical formulas presented in the lecture reminded him of advanced math courses he had taken in college. However, there were a few relatively challenging formulas that he needed to jot down and solve.
  • They got off the bike and leaned against an old tree. The scenery remained still, with the afternoon sunlight casting golden rays on the falling leaves, creating a beautiful sight.
  • Hai Ha reached out and held Nguyen Duy’s hand. Without saying a word, they turned to look at each other. In the twilight, her eyes shimmered like the stars, her rosy lips and fragrant hair exuding the essence of femininity. Nguyen Duy felt his heart pounding, and it seemed like he could sense her heart synchronizing with his own. He closed his eyes and gently brought his lips close to hers. Their lips met and slowly entwined in a gentle embrace.
  • When he reached his office, Nguyen Duy quickly took out pen and paper to rewrite those mathematical formulas. He stared at the papers he had just written. Then, suddenly, he wondered, “Could we consider the interaction between neurons in the human brain similar to the interaction between people? Each neuron is like a person. The entire neural system in the brain is like a society of humans interacting with each other. Those neurons receive and process signals and react just like humans do.”
  • The sky was at the end of autumn, transitioning into early winter, with leaves turning yellow and red. The scenery was beautiful. Nguyen Duy carried Hai Ha on his bike on small roads leading deep into Amstelpark. They arrived at a small lake, where they stopped and sat by the lake’s edge.
  • Under the charming little shelter, they sat down. Nguyen Duy brushed the water off Hai Ha’s hair. Oh, she truly was an angel. She looked beautiful no matter what, even with her hair wet like this. She also looked at him affectionately and wiped the raindrops off his hair and face. They smiled together, their eyes locked in a shared moment of joy.

  • “I just received a call from CEO David of HUAV, stating that the data regarding the classified technology for manufacturing unmanned aerial vehicles has been stolen. Currently, they haven’t determined the origin of the hacker. They need to retrieve the data or destroy it. This is a challenging task, and they need our assistance.” Professor Ca Rijn informed the center’s staff.
  • By utilizing the mapping properties of functions containing trigonometric sine and cosine functions, as well as symmetry functions, the TAFI researchers determined that “TW” was a virtual IP address in Taiwan but directly controlled by a real IP address from China. This address had the code name “CN.” The hackers were clever in not directly infiltrating HUAV but instead stealing the data indirectly using a virtual IP address in Taiwan. All the previously investigated IP addresses were virtual, intended to deceive the investigators.
  • “If the intrusion is blocked by two solid firewall layers, then we should stop. Firstly, according to Daniel’s analysis, overcoming or breaking through these two firewall layers is a very difficult task. If we are determined to do it, it would take at least two weeks. Secondly, if we keep attempting to intrude, the incident may be detected, and the thief will not give us another opportunity.”
  • “CNV 9999 has an outstanding infection and data destruction speed. I am very pleased with that. However, I still have concerns. The stolen data from HUAV is huge. I calculated that the time it takes for the virus to infiltrate the hacker’s computer system and destroy all the stolen data is 59 minutes. If the spreading of the virus and data destruction process is detected halfway through, we won’t be able to destroy all the stolen data,” Professor Ca Rijn explained.
  • Trinh Cam widened his eyes in astonishment and quickly accessed the computer in front of him to investigate. With a few commands, Trinh Cam gained access to the hacker group’s data storage system. The unmanned aerial vehicle data was completely wiped out. He was bewildered, closed his eyes in panic, and shouted:

“Cut off the power immediately!”

‘Pow!’ The office plunged into darkness as the power was promptly shut off following his command.

  • Angry and frustrated by the destruction of stolen data and the inability to infiltrate and retrieve it, Trinh Cam devised a revenge attack. He discussed plans with Tinh Kha to develop a virus to attack HUAV. Addressing the hackers, Trinh Cam said, “Let’s use poison to counter poison! Let’s build a virus to attack them!”
  • As the city lit up, the sparkling lights added a touch of romance to the scene. Couples stood together, admiring the waves and welcoming the sea breeze. They comfortably exchanged gestures of love and passionate kisses. Nguyen Duy and Hai Ha were no exception. They shared tender and passionate kisses with each other. The sound of gentle waves and the refreshing sea breeze seemed to resonate with their love.
  • Hai Ha excitedly pulled Nguyen Duy to explore the vast fields filled with colorful flowers. Each step brought a soft crunch underfoot, the earthy scent of soil mingling with the sweet fragrance of blooming flowers. Colors exploded around them – fiery reds, sunlit yellows, and delicate pinks stretched to the horizon. She felt like she was in paradise, and at that moment, paradise was only meant for love.
  • As the sunset approached, they sat together in the tulip garden. They gazed lovingly at each other, and Hai Ha embraced Nguyen Duy, saying:

“I feel so happy, I feel like we’re in paradise. Do you feel the same way?”

Nguyen Duy caressed her and replied:

“I feel the same way. I will love you for the rest of my life, and together we’ll travel to the ends of the earth, my love.”

Hai Ha looked at Nguyen Duy affectionately and smiled with happiness. They shared another passionate kiss, as if blending into each other amidst the fragrant scent of the endless flower fields.

  • Caught off guard, Nguyen Duy fell to the ground. Seizing the opportunity, the men pounced on him, throwing punches and kicks. Nguyen Duy had to raise his hands to protect himself. He struggled to get up and took a few steps back. The two men continued to charge at him, aiming kicks, but Nguyen Duy skillfully dodged them. Missing their target, the two men fell to the ground. As they tried to stand up, Nguyen Duy swiftly ran towards them and delivered powerful kicks to both of their faces. The force of the kicks sent them flying several meters away.
  • Hải Hà embraced Nguyễn Duy, resting her head on his chest. “Thank you for considering me your soulmate and sharing your memories,” she said. “Everyone has their own memories and emotions.” After a brief pause, she continued, “Now, this place becomes our own memory. Let’s make it unforgettable, my love.”
  • Both sides performed a few warmup movements before engaging in combat. They executed incredibly beautiful martial arts moves. Despite not practicing as much as before, Nguyễn Duy still maintained his martial arts training as daily exercise, so his techniques and strikes remained flexible and agile. The two young monks had grown up, making their strikes stronger and their movements more decisive and powerful. Both sides showcased impressive martial arts techniques, delighting the Master, nun Ngọc Lan, and Hải Hà, who were observing from outside.
  • Thanh Mai also shared news about Ngân Hà, who, despite having a happy married life, recently faced a health challenge. In the last six months, she discovered she had heart failure, experiencing occasional chest pain, dizziness, and fainting spells. There was a particularly concerning incident when she fainted at work, requiring emergency treatment. Consequently, she had to quit her job and stay at home. Her illness could only be managed with medication, and unfortunately, there was no cure. Her mother had to come and take care of her.
  • They went through extensive research and complex development processes involving various technologies such as biotechnology, materials science, nanotechnology, and cellular technology. Finally, they successfully developed a biological sensor capable of receiving and processing information based on human neural cells. They named this biological sensor the Human Neural Cell-based Biosensor (HNCB), also known simply as the Neural Cell Sensor.
  • “Darling, why is it that in two different places, I feel like gazing at the starry sky here is just like gazing at the starry sky back home? It’s the same Scorpius constellation, the same Milky Way stretching across the sky. I don’t see any difference at all.”
  • It was late at night, and they entered the room together. Placing her on the bed, Nguyễn Duy tenderly gazed at her and gently kissed her rosy, plump lips, kissed her face, her ears, and slowly kissed down her full, round, and beautifully white and pink bosom. Hải Hà rejoiced in the joyous happiness, and her hands caressed his body all over. The two bodies now merged into each other, creating a complete bliss, intoxication, and ecstasy in the endless joy of love.
  • “Professor, the human brain has about 100 billion nerve cells. The number of nerve cell sensors in Robot R 10.6, 1 million, is equivalent to only 1/100,000 of the number of nerve cells in the human brain. So, its ‘thinking and intelligence’ capabilities will be greatly limited. Can it still perform rescue missions like a real human?” Professor Lizzy asked.
  • “A mouse’s brain contains around 10 million nerve cells, but currently, we have only built an artificial neural system with 1 million nerve cell sensors, which is equivalent to one-tenth of the nerve cells in a mouse’s brain. Therefore, when the mouse’s brain was replaced by the artificial brain, the mouse cannot live or function normally.”
  • “Every night before going to bed, I knitted a little. I always miss you, but before sleep, I miss you the most. So, I knitted this sweater to pour my longing and love for you into it.”
  • They strolled along the streets of the city, exploring its various avenues. After a while, Hai Ha’s feet grew tired. Nguyen Duy, therefore, gave her a piggyback ride. Sitting on his back, she felt extremely warm and happy. She wished that her life could always be like this, with him by her side.
  • The next morning, Hai Ha had fully recovered, and she looked radiant and beautiful. The sky was clear, and the morning sun cast warm rays throughout the city, making the scenery fresher and full of life after the cold days of snow. Nguyen Duy once again took Hai Ha on his bicycle through the streets of Rotterdam.
  • Seeing a beautiful Asian girl standing alone on the deck, Alex Ramos, a famous playboy in this city, approached her:

“Hi there! You’re so beautiful! Where are you from? Can I invite you to dinner?”

Hai Ha shook her head and remained silent, feeling scared. She went inside to find Nguyen Duy, and Ramos approached her again, grabbing her hand. Hai Ha resisted, and he said softly:

“You’re so beautiful. Let me invite you to have dinner on the upper deck in the business class with me, okay?”

  • Seeing that Nguyen Duy was skilled in martial arts and not easy to bully, Ramos pulled out his gun and aimed it straight at Nguyen Duy’s face, and threatened:

“You’re very good, but even if you’re skilled, you can’t dodge a bullet from me. Well, if you want to live, let me sleep with your girlfriend for one night. Don’t worry, I’ll be very gentle with her.”

Hai Ha was terrified. Nguyen Duy stepped back a few steps. He pretended to raise his hand and agreed. Upon hearing this, Hai Ha held onto him tightly and said:

“No! No! No! I don’t want to! I can’t!”

Ramos, feeling triumphant, tried to reassure her:

“Come on, just enjoy one night with me, and then I’ll let you go. I’ll be very gentle with you, and you’ll have fun tonight.”

  • Nguyen Duy rushed forward, intending to subdue Ramos and take him hostage to prevent his juniors from advancing. However, unexpectedly, a gunshot rang out from behind. Nguyen Duy fell to the ground, shot by one of Ramos’s gang members.
  • “I’m a police officer, you are being detained on suspicion of involvement in a robbery. Please get in the car.”

Hải Hà widened her eyes, not understanding what the police officer was saying:

“I haven’t done anything wrong. Are you mistaken?”

“You’ll find out when you get to the police station,” Giovanni replied.

Without giving Hải Hà a chance to react further, Giovanni forcefully guided her into the car where Alba was already waiting.

  • “Hi you,

Your girlfriend, Hải Hà, has been captured and is currently in a secret location far from the Netherlands. Transfer all the data about HUAV’s unmanned aircraft manufacture technology to us, and we will release your girlfriend. Otherwise, you will see the consequences.

You can rest assured that we operate with rules, and civilized behavior. Your girlfriend is very beautiful, but we will not touch her. She will be well taken care of. We hope for your cooperation!

Octopus.”

  • “Sir, four helicopters carrying police officers are slowly landing on the island. It seems that the cops have discovered the location where the Asian girl is being held,” Giovanni said.

“What did you say? The police are closing in on the island?” Antoni Carlos responded.

“Yes, sir!” Giovanni replied.

“Damn it, how could they find a secret holding location like that?” Carlos asked.

“I am also surprised. Now, how should we react, sir?” Giovanni asked.

“Shoot back without mercy and take that Asian girl as a hostage,” Carlos ordered.

“Please obey, sir!” Giovanni replied.

  • One day, Tịnh Kha approached Trịnh Câm and said:

“Sir, when one plan fails, we can devise another. Why do you appear so worried and angry?”

“Even when collaborating with the mafia, we gain nothing. What should we do now? We are losing face and facing pressure from above,” replied Trịnh Câm.

“I have a great idea, sir,” Tịnh Kha said.

“Ideas? We’ve had plenty, yet we continue to fail,” Trịnh Câm responded.

“Sir! If we can’t attack, sabotage, or steal using computer viruses, why not create a biological virus for revenge?” suggested Tịnh Kha.

“A biological virus?” Trịnh Câm questioned.

  • “The SARS virus is one of the dangerous types, capable of attacking and destroying the lungs. However, vaccines and treatments are currently available. Therefore, based on the existing virus, SARS, we need to develop additional DNA and RNA segments. These segments will be cultivated into the SARS virus to transform it into a new virus without any known treatment,” Professor Tử Khang explained.
  • A specialized meeting was held immediately after. Opening the meeting, Professor Pieter went straight to the point:

“As initially predicted, the analysis results show that this new virus shares 75% of its structure with the SARS virus.”

“So, this can be considered as a variant of SARS.” Benjamin, the Director of OLVG Hospital, said.

“The geometric structure of this new virus confirms your statement,” Professor Pieter said.

“How are the patients being treated, Professor Pieter?” Benjamin asked.

  • When facing danger, Nguyễn Duy’s sharpest weapons were meditation and yoga. The Master said that practicing these two things could help the human body withstand dangers and overcome seemingly incurable diseases. However, now he couldn’t perform these meditation and yoga practices. The virus had ravaged his lungs, and he was dependent on a ventilator to survive. How could he meditate or practice yoga to overcome the disease?
  • Hải Hà now cycled alone on the bicycle they used to ride together. She wandered to the places that held their beautiful memories. She went to Vondelpark, where their first love was imprinted. She also visited Amstelpark, searching for the shelter where they had sought refuge from the rain, full of emotions. She strolled around the central streets of Amsterdam and the Oosterdok harbor. Then she cycled to the outskirts of Amsterdam, revisiting the windmills, farms, flower fields that bore the imprints of their memories and angelic emotions.
